Maybe you missed my obsession coverage of ReMade, a YA weekly serial that I gushed over for 15 weeks in the fall/winter. NOT A PROBLEM because we are back today with another amazing serial – Geek Actually!
Ahhh, so excited that the squad goes to Booklovers Con (which is similar to RWA and BookExpo) but, uh, I so want to go to a conference where they have panels like the one Michelle went to (meow!).
Wednesday mornings are for discussing Geek Actually
In The Long Con, we get to spend quality time with Michelle, Aditi, Taneesha, Elli, Vivi, and Christina. I loved Vivi and Christina – their chemistry is off the charts! I would be lying if I said I wasn’t rooting for them big time. Taneesha goes on a date with our new fav book boyfriend (seriously, can I have him?). Aditi’s flighty nature is better explored; I think we’ve only scratched the surface of what’s going on for her. We also got some insight into Michelle’s former marriage and a peek into her future. This episode did not shy away from sexy times!
As for Elli, I spoke too soon last week because it looks like she may have found her calling! It’s funny how you never know where life will take you. I can’t wait to see how things turn out for her.
It’s not only refreshing to see a (geeky) diverse cast of women (written by a diverse set of women) in all stages of their career and personal life but also to see a new character (Ruby) introduced who helped explore ableism. I hope we see more of her in the future!
Come back weekly for mini reviews, including next week when I will review episode 1.5 along with Kelly from BookCrushin! As always, the first episode is free on audio and ebook – so you can try it out!

This is the 4th episode in the first season of Geek Actually, a 13-episode serial from Serial Box Publishing. This episode was written by Cecilia Tan.
Michelle, Aditi, and Elli love a good con, and when they converge at Booklovers, it proves to hold exciting opportunities for each of them. Meanwhile, Taneesha goes to a game night at Diego’s store, hoping to get another chance to gauge his interest. Christina and Vivi get closer, but does Vivi want more than Christina is willing to give?
