Today I have the pleasure of being a host on THE KISS OF DECEPTION Blog Tour. I have been a long time fan of Mary E. Pearson and when I found out she was creating a new series set in the realm of fantasy I was more than eager to read it. Fast forward many months later and this amazing book is in my hands and I am blown away by the absolute genius of this novel that completely hi-jacked my world. I had such a book hangover from KoD that I went on an immediate twitter campaign to make sure that EVERYONE that was willing to listen would know about Mary’s new novel and that they had to read it like, NOW!!!! and I was relentless in my mission. I hope that at least a few book lovers benefited from my continued support and that they enjoyed it as much as I did. Thank you, Mary for enriching my reading world and giving me something to gladly pimp out over and over again.

Please stay and enjoy a bit of RAFE and when finished enter the great giveaway at the end. Then, make sure to follow the other stops to find out more about this great novel and it’s author.

KISS of DECEPTION

In a society steeped in tradition, Princess Lia’s life follows a preordained course. As First Daughter, she is expected to have the revered gift of sight—but she doesn’t—and she knows her parents are perpetrating a sham when they arrange her marriage to secure an alliance with a neighboring kingdom—to a prince she has never met.
On the morning of her wedding, Lia flees to a distant village. She settles into a new life, hopeful when two mysterious and handsome strangers arrive—and unaware that one is the jilted prince and the other an assassin sent to kill her. Deception abounds, and Lia finds herself on the brink of unlocking perilous secrets—even as she finds herself falling in love.
The Kiss of Deception is the first book in Mary E. Pearson’s Remnant Chronicles.

an excerpt HERE
Princess Lia is First Daughter of the House of Morrighan, a kingdom steeped in tradition, duty, and the stories of a bygone world.  She flees on her wedding day, shirking her duty, but is determined to marry for love and not to secure a political alliance.
Pursued by bounty hunters, she finds refuge in a distant village and settles into a new life, hopeful when two handsome strangers arrive.  She doesn’t know that one is the jilted prince and the other an assassin sent to kill her.  Deception abounds and Lia finds herself on the brink of unlocking perilous secrets—even as she finds herself falling in love.

Ravenous Reader – The Kiss of Deception Interview

Interviewer: So, I hear you like to go berry hunting. Anything else you like to hunt?

Rafe: Who wants to know?

Interviewer: Hm, defensive aren’t we?

Rafe (with a scowl): All right. I’m not particularly fond of berries.  I was curious about princesses who go into remote canyons looking for them.

Interviewer: Ah, so you know she’s not a tavern maid.  How is that possible? She hasn’t told anyone.

Rafe : I have my ways.

Interviewer: I hear she called you an ill-mannered boor.  What did you think of that?

Rafe (shrugging): I’ve been called worse.

Interviewer: By who?

Rafe (eyes fixed on interviewer, smiling):  Nice try.

Interviewer (swallowing) (looking away) (looking back) (remembering interview):  Yes. Well.  (sitting up straight) Do you like her?

Rafe: No. Maybe. Not really.

Interviewer: You can’t seem to make up your mind. Are you always this indecisive?

Rafe (with scorn): Never. Usually I don’t have to be. She wasn’t quite what I expected to find.

Interviewer: Think you’ll go berry hunting with her again?

Rafe: No

Interviewer: Liar.

Rafe: Exactly. You’re beginning to understand me now. But you won’t be telling Lia, will you?

Interviewer (wilting under Rafe’s steady stare):  I— (fans self) I suppose she’s capable of handling you herself.

Rafe (standing to leave): You’re very perceptive. It’s been a pleasure.

Interviewer: But I—

Rafe:  Talk to her (pointing at Mary and sighing). Unfortunately because of Lia, I have business to attend.

Mary (shrugging):  Don’t look at me.  I know better than to give away his secrets.
